What you need to know
The UK Skilled Worker Visa allows overseas skilled workers to take up in employment in the UK.
If you wish to enter the UK, you will need to have obtain a Certificate of Sponsorship from your perspective employer.
You will need to have an annual salary of at least £25,600 or the appropriate rate specific to the job role.
You will also need to show that you have at least £1,270 in your account for a period of 28 days prior to applying as evidence that you are able to maintain yourself.
If the sponsor is a fully approved ‘A rated’ sponsor who can provide at least £1,270 a month to cover your costs, then this is permissible as long as the sponsor confirms this on the Certificate of Sponsorship.
You must prove your knowledge of English, this can be done by passing an approve English language test with at least CEFR level B1 in reading, writing, speaking, and listening or having an academic qualification that was taught in English and is recognised by UK NARIC as being equivalent to UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
You are allowed apply for your spouse and any dependent children however you or your prospective employer will need to demonstrate, adequate maintenance for each additional applicant.
