What you need to know
The UK Investor Visa is designed for individuals wanting to invest £2,000,000 or more in an active and trading company in the UK.
You must be over 18 years old, be able to prove the money belongs to either you or your husband, /wife, unmarried or same-sex partner and have opened an account with a UK regulated bank.
As part of the application process, you will need to provide a criminal record certificate.
The funds must be held in one or more regulated financial institutions and must be available to utilise in the UK.
If you are using your own funds to invest, you should be able to show:
- How much funds you have and where they are held
- The source of your funds, if you have had the funds for less than 2 years, for example inheritance, etc
- The funds can be transferred to the UK and converted into sterling (if it is not already in the UK)
If you are using your partner’s funds or any other source, you will need to provide further documentation to substantiate this.
You must provide a letter to prove you have an account with a UK regulated bank for your investment funds.
